Comparison Between Flutter Vs Angular for Web App Development

Aug 28, 2019 One of the most annoying dilemmas that web app developers face during web development is to choose the best framework for the project. There are various types of frameworks available for web application development, and sometimes, it becomes a tough choice for developers to choose the right. First of all, let’s understand why developers need a framework. When it comes to native web development, it becomes a costly affair for businesses, especially for startups. They have budget constraints, and they look for cost-effective deals for mobile and web app development, and that’s where these app development frameworks come into the picture. These frameworks have different Development tools and other resources such as plugins and libraries that make the a smooth-sailing affair for developers. And help developers to obtain native-like app experience at low-cost. For a decade, Angular was a preferred choice for developers to develop web apps. However, Flutter is a recent development that has taken the digital space by storm. On every prestigious blog and online forums for web and mobile app development, we hear about Flutter and why developers should prefer it. We have thought of comparing these two amazing frameworks to kill the dilemma that developers face. Why have we decided to compare these two frameworks? The reason is Google develops both the frameworks. Angular is a hybrid app development framework that used to build web applications and mobile apps. It uses typescript language and HTML structure to control and develop web applications. It is good to create an app either for iOS or Microsoft OS. However, it gets complicated when it requires...

9 Popular GitHub Repos For Every Web Developer – DEV

GitHub is the one-stop-shop for everything related to (web) development these days. Frameworks, demos, collections of all sorts — there’s probably nothing you cannot find on GitHub. However, this huge quantity of things is the problem. There are cool things you’ll probably never hear about, simply because there are so many repositories available. So, once again I’ve decided to bring to you some of the most popular GitHub repositories you should know about, each of them having at least ~30,000 stars. The first repository in this list is Realworld. Its creators call it nothing less than “The Mother of all Demo Apps.” A bold statement, for sure, but I don’t think it’s an exaggeration. Realworld is an exemplary Medium.com clone. But not only that. The repository lets you choose between different front end and back end implementations, which you can happily mix. Vue.js + Node/Express or React /Redux + Rust? They got it! Realworld shows you how the exact same blog app is built on almost any popular language or framework. How awesome is that? You Don’t Know JS Yet This repository is a popular book series by Kyle Simpson who is widely known under his alias, Getify. The books dive deep into the mechanics of JavaScript and cover the following topics: The best thing? It’s completely free to read! It’s definitely one of the best series about JavaScript and it really helped me to understand what JS is really about. Even if you think you know JavaScript well — read the books! You will be surprised, I promise. Airbnb JavaScript Style Guide A mostly reasonable approach to JavaScript....

How I Went from Civil Engineer to Web Developer Using freeCodeCamp to Learn to Code

2020 was a very tough year. The COVID-19 pandemic is still going strong. Some people are sick or recovering from the virus, some are grieving family or friends, some have lost their jobs, and others have seen their businesses fall apart. At times like these, we’re put to the test in situations we’ve never imagined we’d be. And this always means there’s an opportunity to grow. Let me share with you the story of how I learned to code, which feels meaningful to me at this point in time. My Life as a Civil Engineer It was January 2015 and I was traveling by car, moving from Huambo to Cubal (two Angolan towns) to start a new project: we were building a 100 km road to create a shortcut between two distant municipalities, Cubal and Chongoroi. At my side was Pedro, an experienced soils and concrete lab technician. He was my co-pilot, my friend, and also a great professional which helped me make sure all technical aspects of the construction were under control. I myself, as a Sr. Civil Engineer, was occupied managing and tracking the contract between the government and the contractor. Two Portuguese expats in the middle of nowhere. We had just left Huambo and were well out of town when we stopped at a level crossing waiting for a train to pass. The radio was playing African fusion hits of the moment, and out of the blue I told him: We were both forced to work abroad, running away from the GFC (Global Financial Crisis of 2007-2008) and the subsequent Portuguese Financial Crisis. It had drowned...
Do I need to understand DNS as Web Developer? – DEV

Do I need to understand DNS as Web Developer? – DEV

So, do I have to understand what DNS is, as a Web Developer? Let’s find out! Let’s be honest as a Web Developer, we only hear about HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MYSQL, MongoDB, Git, etc. How about DNS configuration and deployment on a real web server? Before you say that DNS is not important, read the next wonderful paragraph. Think of a burger 🍔 that does not have its own burger meat between the buns. It’s impossible to imagine it, correct? Well, it’s the same thing for DNS. Without DNS you cannot host your xyz.com website on a web server. The deployment process is really easy and it comes in two steps. In the first step, via FTP, you can upload the files of your website. You can also choose to do it via SSH. However, if you have a shared hosting, due to security reasons, you most probably won’t have access to your server via SSH. Only if you have a VPS/ Dedicated Server. I won’t explain the first concept any further in this article. The second step consists of setting up the DNS configuration of your domain name. To connect to the FTP Server you must connect to your FTP account via Filezilla, or another tool. To connect via SSH, you must have a linux terminal, or Putty. What is DNS? Do you remember the yellow pages that were used in the past to find the phone number/ address of a person? Well DNS (Domain Name Service) is pretty much this. A user types in the browser the URL (web address) of the website he/ she would like...

In the following paragraphs, we will mention why the Dot net is considered to be better than Java. However, before that, we will discuss Dot net and Java in brief for better understanding. Java is considered to be a programming language that happens to be object-oriented, class-based, and general-purpose. Usually, the applications in Java are compiled to byte codes, which can operate on any JVM (Java virtual machine). Although Java’s syntax is identical to that of C and C++, it comes with lesser low-level facilities compared to both of them. According to GitHub in 2019, Java happens to be among the most popular programming languages out there and has been used mainly for client-server side applications with more than 10 million registered developers.
