The first ever AI-assisted casting process has determined Henry Cavill should be the next James Bond. Daniel Craig has played the iconic spy since 2006’s Casino Royale and has since put in five performances in total. His final outing as 007, No Time to Die, was scheduled for release in April, but the coronavirus pandemic delayed it. Currently, No Time to Die is slated for November 20, and a new trailer will arrive online tomorrow. The film will pick up with Bond after he’s left active service, though a request from an old friend brings him back in to the fray. Beyond No Time to Die, the biggest question on fans’ minds is: Who will be the next Bond? As the James Bond franchise has existed for decades, it’s inevitable that a new actor will be brought in for the next generation of films. However, it remains to be seen who will take the reins from Craig. There have been a number of names thrown around by fans, from Idris Elba to Richard Madden. One thing is certain though: The next Bond won’t be a woman, as producers said earlier this year. If AI casting had its way, however, Cavill would be James Bond. In a new study conducted by Largo.ai, AI software was used to compare an actor’s attributes and Bond’s attributes in order to best assess which performer would earn the most positive audience reactions. When it comes to British actors, Cavill won with a score of 92.3%, followed by Richard Armitage (The Hobbit films, 92%) and Elba (90.9%). When expanding the study to international actors, star Karl Urban topped the list with a whopping 96.7%,...

Daniel Craig will soon be saying goodbye to the tuxedo and silenced Walther PPK, as No Time To Die will be his final outing as . Craig’s tenure at MI6 has been a resounding success, winning critical adulation for Casino Royale and Skyfall and becoming the highest-grossing Bond of all time. Filling those impeccably styled shoes will be tough, so you can bet that the next actor for the role is already under heavy consideration. In fact, “award-winning AI software provider” Largo.ai claims to have crunched various data to decide who’s best suited for the part and top of the list, with a massive 92.3% chance of becoming a more successful Bond than Craig, is Man of Steel and The Witcher star Henry Cavill. I’ve got to hand it to the computer, he certainly looks the part. The only wrinkle is that Cavill has commitments for with Netflix and is also still theoretically the DCEU Superman. That could mean that though he’s the most coldly logical choice, scheduling conflicts may get in the way. Here’s What Henry Cavill Would Look Like As James Bond Click to skip MORE FROM THE WEB Click to zoom Other contenders are Outlander‘s Sam Heughan and McMafia’s James Norton, who have an 87.6% and a 74.2% chance, respectively, of being better Bonds than Craig. But I think this AI system is looking at the situation a bit too coldly and just crunching the numbers for conventionally handsome white British actors within a certain age range. Also, I doubt it would ever have considered Daniel Craig for the role in the mid-2000s. But then again, the name does sound a bit...
A data scientist extracts manipulate and generate insights from humongous data. To leverage the power of data science, data scientists apply statistics, programming languages, data visualization, databases, etc. So, when we observe the required skills for a data scientist in any job description, we understand that data science is mainly associated with Python, SQL, and R. KPMG responds to the release of the Government’s 2020 Cyber Security Strategy Lead Partner, Cyber in Government One in three adults have been affected by cybercrime, and estimates are the cost of cybercrime could be as much as $29 billion per year in Australia alone. Today’s announcement of the release of Australia’s 2020 Cyber Security Strategy follows a ‘call for views’ last year, and the release of the Industry Advisory Panel report last month. The creation of the Joint Cyber Security Centres within Australian states following the 2016 strategy was a welcome move, and further investment into these capabilities will go some way to further explain the cybersecurity threat we face, and what we can do about it. For years, we have heard so much more about cyber hacks and incidents than proactive cybersecurity protection strategies. The shift to be more active on addressing cyber security announced today is positive and business and personal focus should shift to be more proactive. The strategy announces a $1.67 billion investment over ten years, the largest ever financial commitment to cyber security in Australia recognising the importance of the internet for our prosperity but also the challenge of the ubiquitous nature of threats from cyber criminals. A key focus for the future will be improved security by design, more ability for government to help business and an increased focus on national critical infrastructure. Another is making our National Critical Infrastructure more resilient. There will be a pooling of resources within government into “Secure Government Hubs” to reduce the number of networks hostile actors can target. $90m will be invested in growing Australia’s cyber...
Notch, a technology consulting company founded in Richmond in 2014 that specialized in data engineering and machine learning, has been acquired by Capital One Financial Corp. The small company has left its office in Richmond’s Shockoe Bottom and moved its 16-person staff to Capital One’s West Creek office campus in Goochland County. They have joined a group of Capital One employees working on ways to utilize new, cutting-edge artificial intelligence in the credit card company’s services. “The thing we are really excited about is (Capital One) is trying to harness machine learning for the good of the customer,” said Paul Hurlocker, who co-founded Notch in 2014 with David Der. “There are a number of areas where that can be done.” “In particular, Capital One is using machine learning and data to drive personalization in the digital space,” he said. “Mobile and web-based experiences are being tailored to make product offerings that are more fitting for the customer.” The acquisition comes about 15 months after Capital One created an in-house “Center for Machine Learning,” which is housed in several of the company’s locations in New York, Northern Virginia and the Richmond area. Machine learning is an area of artificial intelligence that involves developing computer systems that can automatically analyze large amounts of data and learn from it, without being explicitly programmed to do so. One goal is to make better predictions about how people and systems behave. “If you look around, industry after industry is being disrupted by breakthroughs in machine learning,” said Adam Wenchel, Capital One’s vice president for machine learning and data innovation. One example of machine learning...
